Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella and Td. Influenza and Pneumonia vaccine are available to all in the Fall of each year at a modest cost |

TUBERCULOSIS
|
|
Available to all.
|
|
TB skin testing. Follow-up on all positive reactions and contacts.
Medication for those with the disease or on preventive therapy. |

WELL CHILD/ EPSDT
|
|
Provides preventative health care of children from birth to 21
years of age within specific income and age guidelines or clients with a medical card. Services provided include health and developmental assessments, immunizations, school physicals, and referral for diagnosis and treatment of identified problems. |

SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES
|
|
Available to all.
|
|
Including diagnostic, treatment, counseling, prevention and
referral services. |
|
WOMEN, INFANTS & CHILDREN
|
|
Provides specific nutritious foods to income eligible pregnant
and breast-feeding women, infants and children to five years of age. |
|
NUTRITION COUNSELING
|
|
Provides nutritional counseling services and educational classes
with emphasis on pregnant women, infants and children, but available to anyone needing diet information. |
|
PRENATAL
|
|
Provides financial assistance and early prenatal care to pregnant,
income eligible females living in Boyle County. Services include nursing and nutritional counseling, prenatal classes, referral to OB/GYN physicians and postpartum care. |
|
HANDS
|
|
HANDS is a free, voluntary intensive home visiting program for first
time parents. Trained home visitors offer support through pregnancy and after delivery, provide information on baby care, safety and child development, introduce activities for parent-child interaction and connects family to appropriate community resources. |
|
CHOLESTEROL TESTS
|
|
Cholesterol tests are available and we provide full lipid profiles.

CARDIOVASCULAR
|
|
Blood pressure screening and monitoring of hypertension.
Education and counseling for lifestyle changes associated with cardiovascular diseases. Nominal Fee. |

FAMILY PLANNING
|
|
Available to all on a sliding fee scale. Includes medical history,
nurse counseling, health maintenance, and information on birth control, physical exam and pap smear. All methods of contraception are available. Appointments available daily for exam, supplies and counseling. |
|
PREGNANCY TESTING
|
|
Urine tests available on a sliding fee scale.
|
|
LEAD SCREENING
|
|
Provided for children from six months to six years of age
who have been identified as being at risk for lead poisoning. Education and information are provided to parents about measures that can be taken to reduce lead exposure. Nominal Fee. |
|
DIABETES
|
|
Available to anyone with diabetes. Education in management
skills including diet, exercise and preventing complications. Weight, blood pressure and blood glucose are monitored. Nominal Fee. |
|
CANCER
|
|
Available to any female not enrolled in the family planning or
prenatal programs. Provides pap smear, breast exam and cancer prevention counseling. Referrals are made for mammogram if eligible or to OB/GYN physicians if pap smear is abnormal. |
|
MAMMOGRAPHY
|
|
Available to women who are enrolled in the cancer program
and are income eligible. Those meeting age and risk recommendations as established by the American Cancer Society are referred for a mammogram. |
|
CONDOM DISTRIBUTION
|
|
Free condoms are distributed without the clients having to
identify themselves through what is known as the "brown bag program". |
|
PRECONCEPTUAL HEALTH ASSESSMENT
|
|
Available to any female of the child bearing age who is not
pregnant or who has not been sterilized. Provides assessment for risk factors that may affect a future pregnancy and counseling to promote wellness and prevention until pregnancy is desired. |
|
AIDS PREVENTION AND HIV TESTING
|
|
Voluntary, anonymous and confidential testing offered at no
charge. Designated testing and counseling site for Boyle County. Speaker available for group education. |
|
SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROME (SIDS)
|
|
Counseling and information are provided, upon request, to the
family and others affected by a sudden infant death. |
|
HEARING / VISION
|
|
Screening program for all county and city school children in
kindergarten, first, second and third grade with referrals to appropriate health agencies or individuals. |
|
VITAL STATISTICS
|
|
Serve as Registrar for the County, recording all births and
providing assistance in obtaining birth certificates and birth verifications. |
|
HEALTH EDUCATION
|
|
Preventive health education programs available in smoking
cessation, child care, and folic acid. Health education classes available upon request. |
|
Most services charge on a sliding fee scale; however, no one will be denied services due to inability to pay. Services are by
appointment. Those without appointments will be seen as quickly as possible. |

Medicaid and Medicare accepted for some services.
